An acid etched LED floor light inspired by the logic of pure mathematics. Etch Light is made up of 0.4mm digitally etched brass sheets. The detailed pattern creates a mass of intricate shadows when lit. This work by Tom Dixon is a limited edition prototype and never made full production. This example shows wear from being an exhibition piece. Only one piece available. Made from brass sheets, the pattern is photo etched: acid dissolves the exposed parts leaving behind the unexposed metal creating the pattern. The brass is lacquered to prevent oxidization.
