Azov Sound Sculpture

Hydrochrom, stemming from the Greek expression for the color of water, is a series of sculptural glass works. Glass cubes are formed and then combined into assemblages. Some become light sculptures through the use of LED fixtures piercing through the core of the glass, as in this work, Aden. Others act as pure glass sculptures. Finally, some are transformed into sound sculptures, playing an original ambient oceanic soundtrack, allowing the glass to be translated into a sonic medium. From the blue bubbly glass texture and the naming of the pieces after different seas, Hydrochrom is an ode to the ocean.
